1. Create a Facebook group. Facebook has a lot of clout with the search engines, so getting a group started on this social networking giant is a simple way to build back links. You can also list your website on your profile, and ask your friends to do the same.
2. Answer questions on a Q and A community. Wiki Answers and Yahoo! Answers are two great places to post links to your site. Simply answer questions that are relevant to your product or service, then insert a link to your site as a reference. Avoid answering too many questions at once, though, or risk being flagged and having all of your links removed.
3. Post an advertisement on Craigslist. Craigslist is constantly being spidered by Google’s bots, and new posts register fast. Although sneaking a link into your Craigslist posting can be difficult, it can be done. Try leaving off the www, or better yet, simply link to an image (with a URL embedded in the picture) hosted on another server.
4. Start a Wikipedia page about your product or service. Even though Wikipedia inserts a “no-follow” code into all URLs on the page, you can still use this community site to build back links fast. Wikipedia sites are frequently cited on other web sites, so your post will naturally build more links to the site.
5. Comment on newspaper stories. Many popular news websites will allow commenters to create a link out of their user name by entering a web address. This is a great way to build anchor text links to specific pages on your site.
